Shawshank Redemption: One of the best movies ever…
This is a story of a convicted murderer imprisoned at the The Shawshank Penitentiary and how he survives there and ultimately escapes from it.
Although you may think, it’s some run of the mill story; it actually teaches a lot of values to one. It’s really a wonderful movie that you can never get bored of seeing. It’s a great movie that really talks about the various things that you already know but you really don’t know; knowledge is something that you know with you heart. That little something that you think you know but you really don’t is this: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”
It’s a story of survival, hope, adaptation and faith. It’s about how a person who is falsely convicted and thrown into gaol and how he survives there; bearing all the horrors inflicted on him: torture, sexual, inhumane treatment, false accusations and consequent punishments etc and how he comes on top of all that and ends up escaping: all thanks to his continued persistence in the execution of his plan and faith that he was innocent.
It’s wonderful movie that really says the most important thing which we all “know” but really “don’t know”: perseverance, faith and hard work are key to success. But these alone are not the driving force always; having these three do not ensure the success of the person: it’s the true commitment with all your heart that this is exactly what you want to do can ensure you achieve success.
It was this precise thing that facilitated his escape. The long years he had been planning to escape anyways. But he could not because the long years in prison made him think “Maybe I am guilty”. But once he got evidence that he was not guilty, he escapes; because now he knew with all his heart that he was not guilty and hence there is no reason why he should not escape.
Remember: “Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.”
